Azure Application Developer (SQL)

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Azure Application Developer with strong expertise in cloud-based application development and data solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, along with a solid background in application development and SQL technologies.

This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week at our downtown Toronto office and/or client site (subject to change).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications on Microsoft Azure
- Build and maintain cloud-based data integration solutions
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored procedures
- Create and manage Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines and data workflows
- Develop and manage Azure App Services (Web Apps, API Apps)
- Build Azure Function Apps (HTTP-triggered and timer-triggered)
- Work with Azure Data Lake for data ingestion and processing
- Ensure application performance, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with stakeholders and provide clear status updates

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure
- 5+ years of application development experience
- Strong experience with SQL databases and programming
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), including pipelines, datasets, linked services, and data flows
- Experience with Azure App Services (Web Apps and API Apps)
- Strong knowledge of Azure SQL / Azure SQL Managed Instance, including feature differences
- Experience working with Azure Data Lake (data ingestion and retrieval using SDKs/APIs)
- Experience developing Azure Function Apps (HTTP-triggered and timer-triggered)
- Strong understanding of Azure Network Security Groups (NSG) and rule configuration
- Proven experience writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries and stored procedures
- Working knowledge of performance tuning techniques (partitioning, indexing, statistics, execution plans)
- Strong communication and reporting skills

**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
