Azure Data Administrator

Develops and manages the structured and unstructured data stores enterprise and mission-critical data environments. Provides expert-level support services for database creation, performance, monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning. Demonstrates database functional expertise mentoring, supporting, and training other team members. Responsible for core database administration tasks in a project team.

Hours: Monday to Friday between 7 am-5 pm. Some occasional evening or weekend shifts based on projects and system implementation.
Available for on-call support/rotation. Remote with occasional in-office meetings or projects. Able to travel within the metro area.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $85,612 to $128,356, with a median salary of $106,984. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with MS SQL Server and associated technologies (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, etc.).
• Installation and configuration experience with SQL Server 2008 (and higher), SQL Service Packs, and Cumulative Updates.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and Azure best practices regarding SQL licenses and Azure resources.
• Experience in administering Azure SQL Managed Instances.

Preferred

• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with data warehousing technical development, data analysis, architecting ETL processes, and data mapping.
• Experience in administering clustered/high availability Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
• Experience in administering Azure Analysis Services.
• Experience administering Cosmos DB or other multi-modal, NoSQL, or unstructured data stores.
• Experience with other database systems like MySQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of data storage technologies including but not limited to MS SQL database admin.
• In-depth knowledge of the differences between SQL, NoSQL, structured, and unstructured data stores and the ability to advise on the best approach to meet the given need.
• Ability to interpret client and staff needs through active listening and advanced communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
