As part of a major data transformation initiative focused on implementing a modern AWS Data Lake architecture, CGI is seeking a BI Architect to support the evolution of a large-scale data and analytics platform.
This role requires close collaboration with internal delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between data architecture, integration strategies, and analytics requirements.
The BI Architect will play a key role in defining data architecture, evolving data models, and implementing modern analytical solutions based on Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures.
The position operates within a modern technology ecosystem leveraging AWS Data Stack and Azure Data Factory, with a strong focus on scalable data architecture, governance, and data integration.
Your Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Lead Data Architect, the successful candidate will:
• Identify and define relevant data sources through collaboration and interviews with business and IT stakeholders
• Work closely with the Integration Architect to design the mechanisms required to ingest and move data into the AWS Data Lake
• Define and design target data models across the different layers of the Data Lake
• Define required data transformations and target models when introducing data products within a Lakehouse architecture
• Identify and integrate non-functional requirements such as performance, security, governance, and data quality into the proposed solutions
• Contribute to the evolution of the data architecture framework when adjustments or improvements are required
• Support delivery teams with functional analysis and solution design
• Oversee the implementation of data assets by delivery teams and act as a technical mentor
• Ensure alignment with data architecture and BI best practices
Technology Environment
• AWS Data Stack: Athena, Glue, Iceberg
• Azure Data Factory
• Data Lake / Lakehouse architectures
• Data modeling and analytics architecture
• Data integration and transformation pipelines
Required Qualifications
• Strong experience in BI / Data Architecture
• Experience designing Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS Data Stack (Athena, Glue, Iceberg)
• Experience with Azure Data Factory
• Solid understanding of analytical data modeling
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders
• Experience in large-scale data transformation programs is an asset
• Ability to act as a technical reference and mentor for delivery teams
Additional Requirements
• Functional bilingualism (English and French)
• Full-time availability
• Hybrid work model – 2 days per week onsite in Montreal

CGI provides a reasonable salary range estimate for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. A reasonable salary range estimate is between $80,000 and $155,000. This position is currently vacant.
