Business Analyst (Equity Derivatives)

Job Description: Business Analyst – CTH (Client Analytics & Databricks | Swaps, Derivatives, Reference Data) – Toronto

We are seeking a Business Analyst (Contract-to-Hire) with strong experience in capital markets and financial analytics platforms. The role focuses on client analytics, data platforms (Databricks), and supporting derivatives and reference data processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business requirements for client analytics and capital markets data solutions
• Work with Databricks-based analytics platforms for data processing and insights
• Support analysis of swaps, derivatives, and reference data workflows
• Collaborate with data engineers, quants, and business stakeholders
• Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy of financial datasets
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
• Support UAT testing, data reconciliation, and issue resolution
• Develop process flows, documentation, and reporting for stakeholders

Required Skills:

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets / investment banking
• Hands-on experience with client analytics and financial data platforms
• Knowledge of swaps, derivatives, and reference data
• Experience working with Databricks or similar big data platforms
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial instruments
• Experience with SQL and data analysis

Preferred:

• Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
