Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Analyst Intern will support PROPWR’s Commercial Operations team with hands‑on exposure to business development, finance/FP&A analysis, market research, and commercial strategy. This role is designed to provide a well‑rounded understanding of the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Data Center industries while developing analytical, operational, and professional skills.

The intern will assist with evaluating commercial opportunities, visualizing data, building reports, and supporting the development of proposals and commercial documentation. Throughout the summer, the intern will work on a defined project and deliver a final presentation to PROPWR leadership, demonstrating their findings, analysis, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business development activity and monitor market trends to forecast profitability of products and services.

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret market research data to support commercial strategy.

  • Assist with evaluating fleet utilization, equipment availability, and operational data.

  • Build dashboards, visualizations, and reports that support commercial decision‑making.

  • Use available tools to build profiles for potential customers and target markets.

  • Translate data into actionable insights for sales, BD, and leadership teams.

  • Business Development Exposure

  • Participate in commercial activities including sales, business development, and proposal creation.

  • Support the development of commercial‑related documents, presentations, and communication.

  • Shadow commercial and technical team members to understand how operational experience informs business decisions.

  • Answer internal questions related to products, pricing, availability, and commercial terms.

  • Operational & Industry Exposure

  • Travel to active PROPWR or ProPetro sites as needed to observe operations and gain technical knowledge.

  • Visit customer establishments to understand needs and promote products or services.

  • Meet periodically with engineering and operations teams to deepen technical understanding and apply it to commercial analysis.

  • Complete a defined summer project focused on a real business need.

  • Develop a structured analysis, supporting data, and recommendations.

  • Deliver a final presentation to PROPWR leadership at the end of the internship.

  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a BS/MS in Engineering or other closely related field

  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late May through early August)

  • Able to physically work onsite in Tomball, TX

  • Able to work 12-hour shifts

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Has attention to detail; well organized

  • Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization
