About the Role
As Data Analyst, you will support analytical projects, develop dashboards, and deliver insights that drive business performance across the Merchandise Services organization. Reporting to the Manager, Master Data Management, this role partners closely with cross functional teams to analyze data, automate reporting, and translate insights into actionable recommendations across Planning, Pricing, Space, and Promotional functions.
This is a foundational analytics role for someone who enjoys working with data end to end—extracting, transforming, visualizing, and communicating insights that support smarter business decisions.
What You’ll Do
Data Extraction & Analysis
- Extract data from multiple systems using SQL and other tools to support analytical requests
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities across merchandise services functions
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Clean, transform, and prepare raw data into analysis ready datasets
- Support ad hoc analytical requests from the Manager, Master Data Management and functional leaders
Dashboard & Visualization Development
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence tools
- Develop automated reporting solutions that improve timeliness and reduce manual effort
- Create clear, compelling visualizations that communicate insights effectively
- Partner with functional teams to understand reporting needs and preferences
- Ensure ongoing dashboard accuracy through regular refreshes and validation
Analytical Project Support
- Support analytical initiatives such as category performance reviews, pricing analysis, and promotional effectiveness studies
- Gather data and conduct research to support business cases and strategic decisions
- Build analytical models and tools to improve efficiency and consistency of recurring analyses
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and data sources for transparency and reuse
- Prepare summaries and presentations of analytical findings for stakeholders
Cross Functional Analytical Support
- Partner with Planning, Pricing, Space, and other teams to deliver analytical support
- Translate business questions into analytical approaches and data requirements
- Conduct cross functional analyses that integrate data from multiple sources
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of analytical expertise
- Identify data gaps and collaborate with IT and Master Data Management to address them
Platform Development & Automation
- Support implementation and optimization of analytics platforms and tools
- Build automated workflows for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
- Develop reusable templates and analytical frameworks
- Test and validate analytical processes to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Document technical processes and create user guides to support self service analytics
What You Bring
Required Experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and basic data modeling
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with retail data such as sales, inventory, pricing, or promotions
- Familiarity with advanced analytical platforms or tools
- Experience with statistical software or programming languages
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud based analytics platforms
- Experience supporting cross functional analytical initiatives
