Description

We are seeking a motivated and curious Data Analyst – Summer Student to join our Corporate Continuous Improvement (CI) team. This role is ideal for a student who is interested in analytics, continuous improvement, and modern data practices, and who wants hands‑on experience working with real business data.

The successful candidate will support analytics and reporting initiatives across Health & Safety, Learning & Development, and Continuous Improvement, contribute to dashboards and reports, assist with data preparation for our enterprise data lake, and gain exposure to emerging technologies such as AI‑enabled analytics.

This position offers strong mentorship and an opportunity to build practical analytics skills in a corporate CI environment.



Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Support analytics and reporting for Health & Safety, Learning, and Continuous Improvement, helping to surface trends and insights.
  • Help collect, clean, and validate data from various sources to support reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with documentation of metrics, KPIs, and data definitions to support data governance and consistency.
  • Support data preparation activities related to the enterprise data lake, including validation and basic transformations.
  • Participate in requirements discussions with CI and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs.
  • Explore opportunities to automate or streamline simple analytics and reporting tasks.
  • Gain exposure to AI‑enabled analytics, including assisting with testing or supporting AI‑driven tools or agents used in reporting and insight generation.
  • Learn and apply CI principles, including data‑driven problem solving and performance measurement.


Qualifications

  • University student enrolled in a Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related program and in good academic standing.
  • Available for the Summer 2026 Work Term.
  • Experience with Excel and basic data analysis; exposure to Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data querying is an asset.
  • Interest in learning about AI and automation in analytics; experience with scripting, AI tools, or building simple agents is an asset but not required.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Curious, self‑motivated, and eager to learn.
