Design Engineering Intern

Job Summary:             Responsible for meeting customer needs by:

• Create and produce accurate and clear engineering drawings and accurate bills of materials for new and existing products
• Creating custom designs and layouts in SolidWorks as required to meet customer orders or other specifications
• Evaluating design changes, specifications, and drawing release
• Create and maintain a bill of materials in our business software.
• Prepare cost reports on current and new designs
• Being flexible to take on special projects as needed
• Conferring with workers in other departments such as marketing, manufacturing, and engineering, to provide technical information
• Other duties as assigned

Tools Used:                  Computer, phone, calculator and measuring tools

Software Used:             SolidWorks Software, Syteline, MS Office

Environment:                Office area, production floor

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in progress, plus some manufacturing experience preferred.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Must be able to maintain, be responsible for, and keep current on scheduled workload
4. Ability to see situations form a variety of viewpoints (customer, employee, management, etc.)
5. Ability to attend and participate in required company meetings.
6. Ability to work with all levels of the organization
7. Proficient in computer modeling programs such as SolidWorks
8. Basic hydraulics knowledge a plus.
9. Must be a team player with high integrity and strong work ethics to meet company goals.

Additional Job Information:

• Wage Expectations: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
• Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis
• Typical Schedule: Five (5) Eight (8) hour days M-F
• Location: On Site – 52182 Ember Road, Lake Crystal MN 56055
• Travel: Very minimal to none
