Description
The Intern will gain hands‑on exposure to the reinsurance industry through on‑the‑job training alongside experienced professionals across the organization. Throughout the program, they will develop technical, analytical, and decision‑making skills through both formal and informal learning opportunities. The role will involve enhancing analytical capabilities using tools such as Business Objects and Microsoft Excel, as well as completing special projects or assignments in support of the Finance and Accounting teams. Interns will also have opportunities to network with senior leaders and colleagues to deepen their understanding of the industry and build meaningful professional connections. Ongoing feedback will be provided to support growth and development throughout the internship.


Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned closing tasks on a timely basis 

  • Organize and maintain comprehensive files to support all audits  

  • Adhere to timelines set in local closing calendars 

  • Run reports to provide support for the daily Landing during the US Statutory quarter close period 

  • Review quarterly variance analysis 

  • Investigate possible anomalies during analysis of local results 

  • Prepare various analytical reports and aid technical reporting and regulatory reporting departments with other special projects 

  • Present data-driven recommendations to the Finance team 



Qualifications

Experience:  

  • Working towards the completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in insurance and/or Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, other business, analytical, or data related field, or advanced degree at an accredited college or university. 

  • Strong academic performance and experience working on a variety of projects 

  • Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously 

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products (with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint) 

 

Personal Competences: 

  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude 

  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 

 

Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available for this position.

Pay Range for roles performed in NY: $25.50-$27.50 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including 

but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation
