Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Genetics Counselor Lead to join their team! This role will be Full Time Day Shifts: Monday-Friday, 12-hour shifts

Genetics Counselor Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring team is meeting key-deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.

  • Provides mentorship, education, and professional development for genetic counseling staff.

  • Designs and delivers structured onboarding, training programs, and continuing education initiatives.

  • Participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and retention strategies to maintain a high-performing team. 

  • Provides advanced genetic counseling services across a range of indications, applying expert-level clinical judgment and integrating complex genomic data into patient care plans.

  • Serves as a clinical resource for complex or high-risk cases, supporting staff in clinical decision-making and case management.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in genetic counseling.

  • Years of Experience: 4 years of experience in genetic counseling 

  • Certification: Certification by American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
