Position Overview

 

 

  1. SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Support Services functions at S:US are carried out by a team of professionals with diverse backgrounds who share deeply in the S:US mission. We are a resource that provides support to the individual program departments to assist in the pursuit of our mission. Support Services is a collegial, supportive group with a dynamic culture that continuously seeks to collaborate and improve the lives of our clients. The purpose of the Finance Department at S:US is to fulfill the organization’s mission in the most effective and efficient manner and to remain accountable to stakeholders, including clients, partners, funders, employees, and the community. To accomplish this, the Finance Department commits to providing accurate and complete payroll data for internal and external use by the Executive Team and the Board of Directors.

 

The Intern will be assisting with year-end analysis and schedules preparation. He/she must be analytical, organized and willing to learn and challenge themselves in a dynamic environment.

 

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation
  • Assist with balance sheet and P&L accounts reconciliations and relevant supporting schedules
  • Assist with CFR preparation, including temp employees’ hours and rate schedule
  • Assist AP with year-end vendors statement reconciliation
  • Assist with accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data
  • Responsible for ad-hoc projects as per request of Assistant Controller and/or SVP of Finance

 

 

 

 

  • KEY PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

 

  • Problem-solving skills – Ability to be creative and analytical. Examine issues and data and search for inconsistencies, reconcile inconsistencies and recommend implement solutions.
  • Math skills – Ability to use math to calculate data and ensure that information is correct. Ability to work with numbers and make calculations with minimal errors.

Qualifications

  1. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • College Student with major Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
  • Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot table and VLOOKUP must), MS Word and Outlook.
  • Possess critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
