Clay County is accepting applications to be considered for an open position as a Full-Time Juvenile Counselor in the Non-Secure Detention Program.

 Status: Non-Exempt | Shifts vary between day, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

 Starting Salary: $30.28 per hour | Full Salary Range is: $30.28 $42.57per hour.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
    • Six (6) months experience working with at-risk population.
    • Must be current Clay County employee in the Juvenile Detention Center.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervision of youth.
  • Writing reports to the Courts regarding juvenile offenders.
  • Provide mandated programming for the residents.
  • Transport clients
  • Performs custodial functions including building safety and security.
  • Attend all staff training programs.
