Job Description

Partnerships, Collaboration & Communication

Strategic Planning & Business Solutions

  • Develops business cases for projects with projected return on investment or cost savings.

  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of the supported business unit or organization.

  • Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks aligned to overall business strategy.

  • Serves as an interpreter and conduit between business needs and tangible solutions.

  • Recommends new processes and ways of working.

  • Partners with internal and external stakeholders to identify and assess strategic choices.

  • Provides advice and support to improve business and financial understanding across the organization.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitors, analyzes, and translates data to support business strategies and requirements (e.g., planning, reporting, budgets, and business cases).

  • Explains basic financial management reports.

  • Analyzes various approaches to expense and budget management.

  • Leverages data analysis tools to explore moderately complex data.

  • Develops and tests hypotheses and uses data to influence strategic work.

  • Builds, presents, and visualizes insights to influence decision-making.

  • Uses customer analytics for basic forecasting purposes.

  • Maintains and organizes customer analytics and business portfolio–related data.

  • Interprets analytics results and presents findings to management.

  • Participates in deploying web-based surveys to collect customer data.

  • Creates business analysis reports from analytics data extracts.

  • Documents performance criteria used to evaluate business trends and activities.

  • Researches business-related data and generates and interprets basic analytics.

  • Assists in preparing charts, graphs, tables, and other tools to reflect business performance.

Financial & Project Management

  • Prepares annual baseline plans and budgets by time period, task, and cost account.

  • Uses schedules to prepare cash flow forecasts based on project milestone completion.

  • Creates reports on project schedule, cost, and scope progress.

  • Compares current status to baselines and forecasts future trends using earned value analysis.

  • Uses statistical methods to develop project cost and time estimate ranges based on risk probabilities and confidence levels.

  • Tracks project risks and manages changes according to risk management plans.

  • Understands financials and how product pricing impacts business performance.

Retail, Market & Category Strategy

  • Researches company history and experience with retail markets and channels.

  • Documents retail activities, trends, and strategic directions.

  • Discusses existing and planned retail approaches for assigned areas of specialization.

  • Cites key industry publications and sources of information.

  • Explains rationales for major initiatives.

  • Participates in defining organizational strategic goals and purposes.

  • Defines strategies to acquire and retain customers.

  • Analyzes business processes, identifies alternatives to outdated practices, and assesses feasibility.

  • Establishes requirements for large-scale organizational and process improvements.

  • Evaluates financial, cultural, technological, and operational factors.

  • Recommends approaches that leverage advanced technology.

  • Works to overcome resistance to business process improvements.

  • Conducts market research and leverages consumer insights to drive category growth.

Category Execution & Supplier Management

  • Develops and executes promotional plans to drive category sales and customer engagement.

  • Plans and coordinates promotional activities (e.g., sales promotions, advertising campaigns, in-store displays).

  • Builds and maintains strong supplier relationships.

  • Demonstrates negotiation skills and oversees contract management.

  • Ensures suppliers meet quality and delivery standards.

  • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to maximize category performance.

  • Analyzes sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.

Leadership & People Management

  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building stakeholder relationships and supporting business initiatives.

  • Communicates goals and objectives, builds accountability, and measures progress toward results.

  • Identifies improvement opportunities and promotes adaptability and continuous learning.

  • Provides supervision and development through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and recognition.

  • Promotes a culture of belonging in the workplace.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity standards.

  • Business Management, Marketing, Omnichannel Merchandising, or related area
    4 - 6 years
