As part of our global enclosures team, you’ll help ensure that every component meets Apple’s legendary standards.\\n\\nIn this Manufacturing Quality Engineering role based in Vietnam, you will independently own key quality deliverables and apply problem-solving skills to identify solutions to problems that may lack clear definition. \\n\\nYou’ll work closely with suppliers to develop, audit, and improve manufacturing processes for mechanical parts. By balancing execution with critical thinking, you will be a key voice for quality—identifying root causes, driving corrective actions, developing smart tools to improve efficiency, and collaborating across teams to deliver products that delight our customers.

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will manage quality for enclosure mechanical parts including injection molding, painting, metal CNC, stamping, and forging. You will apply your developing domain expertise to improve deliverables, managing supplier quality development, issue resolution, reliability testing, and continuous improvement to ensure the highest product quality and reliability.

Independently Own Quality Deliverables: Establish and maintain comprehensive quality control plans, inspection methodologies, documentation (QMS, IQC/IPQC/OQC), and measurement system validations (MSA, GR\u0026R, FAI/CpK) from development through mass production.\\nSolve Complex Problems: Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of various factors. Lead rigorous problem-solving using 8D, 5Whys, and DOE to identify root causes and implement validated corrective and preventive actions.\\nDrive Automation \u0026 AI Initiatives: Identify inefficiencies in quality processes and develop simple AI-driven tools, scripts, or automation workflows to streamline data analysis, defect recognition, and quality reporting.\\nProactive Risk Mitigation: Conduct supplier process and product audits to identify potential risks. Exercise judgment based on limited precedent to implement preventive measures, training programs, and align specifications (MSOP, cosmetic/color limit samples).\\nOversee Product Reliability \u0026 Validation: Manage Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT), monitor failure analysis, and validate key assembly processes to ensure long-term product performance. Implement Out-of-Box Audit (OBA) processes to prevent defect leakage to the FATP stage.\\nInfluence \u0026 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary quality liaison between suppliers and internal teams. Communicate complex information across teams to resolve problems, align on solutions, and build consensus using effective storytelling and persuasion.\\nDrive Impact \u0026 Autonomy: Determine courses of action based on high-level guidelines. Drive team priorities through independent contributions, operating independently with work reviewed at critical project milestones.\\nLeadership \u0026 Mentorship: Lead by example through technical skills, user-centered thinking, and raising the bar on quality. Begin to mentor others and improve team practices through informal leadership and collaboration.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.\\nProven experience managing quality activities such as FAI, IQC, IPQC, OQC, OBA, and quality control plans.\\nProficiency in written and verbal English, with conversational Mandarin skills. Vietnamese language skills are highly preferred.\\nBased in Vietnam with a willingness to travel regularly to supplier sites within Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and China as needed.
