We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager – Mechanical to join a growing engineering team in Halifax. What You’ll Do<\/b>
<\/p>- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from design through construction and commissioning.
<\/span><\/li>- Develop engineering concepts, review designs, and manage construction budgets.
<\/span><\/li>- Perform site reviews of existing installations, assess impacts, and incorporate findings into design.
<\/span><\/li>- Prepare calculations, equipment selections, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for completeness and accuracy..
<\/span><\/li>- Maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
<\/span><\/li>- Serve as contract administrator when required, including review and preparation of change notices and site instructions.
<\/span><\/li>- Coordinate design and construction efforts across disciplines, ensuring seamless project delivery.
<\/span><\/li>- Maintain regular communication with clients, external consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
<\/span><\/li>- Support account management, including scope changes, request for additional fees, and account receivables.
<\/span><\/li>- Lead internal project team meetings and external client meetings, providing engineering and project status updates.

Requirements<\/h3>
<\/p>
- 5+ years of experience in Project Management for mechanical engineering projects within the building services sector.
<\/span><\/li>- P.Eng. designation or ability to qualify within one year. Senior C.E.T. candidates with comparable experience will also be considered.
<\/span><\/li>- Strong knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards (ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA), including provincial building codes.
<\/span><\/li>- Project experience within healthcare (including Infection Control CAN/CSA Z312 and CSA Z32), commercial, residential, or retail settings is highly valued.
<\/span><\/li>- Skilled in engineering design, equipment specification, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
<\/span><\/li>- Strong understanding of construction project procurement methods and contract administration.
<\/span><\/li>- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven record of working with internal staff, external stakeholders, and contractors.
<\/span><\/li>- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities and projects.
<\/span><\/li>- LEED accreditation or experience implementing sustainable design practices is an asset.
