JOB TITLE: OnBase & Azure Operations Engineer (SaaS)

DEPARTMENT: Reseller

REPORTS TO: Cloud Operations Manager

JOB LOCATION: Remote (U.S. based)

TRAVEL: up to 10%

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This role bridges the current gap between OnBase application administration and Azure cloud infrastructure, combining skills in Hyland OnBase modules, Windows/IIS, and Azure (VMs, networking, SQL PaaS) to provide end‑to‑end operational ownership of the hosted OnBase SaaS environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as an infrastructure escalation point for the Cloud Support team, vetting or ruling out infrastructure in support of incoming support issues.
  • Triage using Hyland Diagnostics Console, IIS logs, Windows Event Viewer, and Azure metrics; drive RCA and corrective actions.
  • Raise and escalate incidents with the Azure Cloud team, Hyland, or Microsoft as needed
  • Monitor and manage OnBase Windows services, scheduled tasks, and ingestion pipelines (e.g., DIP, SFTP transfers).
  • Configure sites/app pools, bindings, and manage SSL/TLS cert lifecycle, preventing unexpected recycles.
  • Act as an “Azure DBA”monitor query performance, blocking/latency; maintain indexes & statistics; coordinate backups, restores, and failover.
  • Interpret CPU/memory/disk IO, storage latency, and network performance and use this to focus troubleshooting efforts
  • Plan and execute OnBase client/server updates and Windows/SQL patches within tested maintenance windows and maintaining SLA
  • Validate alignment of DB backups and blob/object storage; perform restores; document runbooks and DR exercises.
  •  Provide clear status, action plans, and post‑incident summaries to customers and internal stakeholders.

  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE): 

  • Hyland OnBase: Administration of core modules; use of Diagnostics Service/Console; workflow configuration; ingestion (DIP).
  • Experience supporting Azure SQL, specifically Query performance troubleshooting, blocking analysis, index & statistics maintenance, DR
  • Experience writing SQL Select queries and evaluating their execution plan
  • Knowledge of Windows/IIS, web server basics, app pool tuning, bindings, certificates, and Windows services.
  • Knowledge of Azure Virtual Machine configuration, Storage Accounts, Load Balancing, NSGs/Firewalls, Azure Monitor, Backup Vaults.
  • Knowledge of DNS, TLS, VNet/subnets, cloud network troubleshooting
  • Some knowledge of PowerShell and C# preferred
  • Certifications (preferred): Hyland OCSA/Workflow Admin; Azure Administrator (AZ‑104) or Azure Database Administrator (DP‑300).
