Description

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a motivated Project Management Specialist/Data Analyst to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States — the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). Unlike a traditional corporate HR role, this position is dedicated specifically to a major client project and will focus on recruiting efforts by partnering with managers to attract, source, and hire top talent, while also overseeing onboarding and orientation on this once-in-a-generation infrastructure effort.

We are working in partnership with our JV Partners as part of the MPA Delivery Partner team, selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program — one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation — and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.

The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.

This is more than just a job — it’s a rare opportunity to directly influence the success of a nationally significant infrastructure program. As part of this high-performing, multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the people and HR needs of the project team — not corporate headquarters — and ensuring excellence in all human resources functions across the delivery partnership.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations using PMIS software (Kahua or similar platforms).
  • Support project controls activities, including monitoring project progress, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze project data from various sources to generate actionable insights, performance metrics, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for PMIS enhancements and ensure data integrity within the system.
  • Prepare regular reports and visualizations such as project status, risks, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders.
  • Provide user support and training on PMIS tools to team members, helping to resolve basic technical issues and improve adoption.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency in data handling and project workflows.
  • Participate in project meetings, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with established controls and standards.
  • Engage in governance activities by adhering to PMIS / GDC policies and procedures, updating governance documents as needed, and building expertise to serve as an SME in relevant areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in project management, project controls, or data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI for querying and visualizing data.
  • Familiarity with PMIS systems or similar enterprise software for project tracking

Key Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, or Waterfall) and tools.
  • Understanding of project controls principles (cost, risk, plans etc)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data trends and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
