Project Manager - R&D Wireline Team | Houston, TX

Job Overview:

Lead innovative wireline technology R&D projects from conception to delivery, driving the future of wireline solutions through effective project management, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic leadership. This role requires an experienced professional who can balance technical expertise with strong project management skills in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct multiple complex R&D wireline projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical requirements

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and operations

  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, delivering clear communications on progress and outcomes

  • Establish and maintain high quality standards for all project deliverables

  • Lead post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Mentor team members and foster knowledge sharing across the organization

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and environmental policies

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on complex technical projects

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong leadership and decisive decision-making abilities

  • Strategic thinking with focus on innovation and continuous improvement

  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)

  • High degree of autonomy and accountability

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related technical discipline (STEM)

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in project management within R&D or wireline technologies

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (15-20%)

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Master's degree in engineering or related technical discipline (STEM)

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

  • Strong knowledge of wireline systems, product development cycles, and technology trends

  • Experience with process and guideline improvements
