Property Management Intern

Position Summary

Ruoff Mortgage is seeking a motivated Property Management Intern for Summer 2026. Our internship program runs from Wednesday, May 20th - Friday, August 7th. This internship offers hands-on experience in lease administration, facility operations, preventive maintenance planning, and more. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct a Comprehensive Lease Audit across all Ruoff Mortgage branch locations.
• Maintain accurate records of lease agreements, expiration dates, and renewal options.
• Identify and track preventive maintenance needs for each branch, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
• Assist in creating reports and dashboards summarizing lease and maintenance forecasts.
• Collaborate with the Facilities and Property Management team to prioritize maintenance projects and branch upgrades.
• Support ad-hoc property management projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and create clear, actionable reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for tracking and forecasting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness.

Experience and Training

• Coursework or practical experience in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Facilities Management, or related fields.
• Prior internship or project experience involving administrative tasks, data management, or facility operations is a plus.
• Experience with reporting, spreadsheets, or property databases is advantageous.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

• This position is active and on-the-go, requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching while moving throughout branch locations.
• The employee may occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 25 pounds, including equipment or materials needed for branch operations.
• Requires good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform tasks involving both fine and gross motor skills.
• Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to talk, hear, and communicate effectively in-person and over the phone.

Work Environment:

• Combination of office-based work and on-site visits to branch locations.
• Environment can vary between professional office settings and active branch or facility areas.
• Regular use of office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other tools.
• Must be comfortable navigating different property layouts and occasionally performing light maintenance or equipment relocation tasks.

The Ruoff Mortgage Internship Program is designed to be engaging, hands-on, and rewarding. Throughout the summer, interns connect with leaders and peers through interactive Lunch & Learns, where they explore Mortgage 101, credit basics, department spotlights, and professional skills, plus weekly meetings focused on career readiness, leadership, and collaboration. Along the way, interns enjoy networking opportunities, community volunteer events, team outings, and wrap up the summer by showcasing their work in a group project presentation, making it a memorable and meaningful experience from start to finish!
