DescriptionThe Summer Intern program provides college students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives. In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and employees.
The purpose of the internship is to gain professional development and experience in women’s health and genomics, research and analysis, and advocacy. Activities include health economics and outcomes research of medical devices and services, legislative policy impact analysis, and broad stakeholder engagement.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Support advocacy and marketing efforts by researching scientific literature and other media, preparing document content for meetings, communications, and conference or journal submissions
- Conduct policy and legislative research on federal and state issues impacting CooperSurgical
- Track and summarize legislation, regulations, hearings, agency actions related to policy priorities
- Support data collection and analysis related to policy trends

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Interest and/or experience in public policy, legislative research, health economics, or government affairs
- Strong communication skills in writing and speaking
- Ability to read and understand scientific/medical journal articles and abstracts
Work Environment:
- This is a paid internship.
- Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
Experience:
• Not required; prior Internship experience is a plus.
Education:
- Current college student entering senior year or recent college graduate working toward a post-graduate degree.
