What you’ll do:

This role supports the quality, consistency, and design of data flows and finance applications across Canadian Tire Corporation. The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in defect and enhancement analysis and drives continuous improvement across core Finance systems.  The position leads the analysis, design, and implementation of enhancements to PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Coupa, OTM and Lucernex, supporting multiple business processes and system modules, with scope expanding across the broader Finance systems landscape.

Reporting to the Manager of Finance Systems & Data Governance, the Senior Business Analyst partners with Finance, IT, and cross‑functional teams to plan and deliver application improvements aligned to enterprise standards. This role offers broad exposure to end‑to‑end Finance operations, operates in a fast‑paced environment, and engages with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Support the Finance Operations model across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Costing, Asset Management, Lease Administration, General Ledger, and Planning, ensuring processes and system capabilities align to business needs.

  • Lead business process analysis to identify, investigate, and assess improvement opportunities, documenting current and future‑state workflows and recommending scalable solutions.

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Finance initiatives, ensuring clarity, traceability, and alignment to enterprise standards.

  • Manage the delivery of prioritized Finance initiatives, contributing across the full lifecycle including analysis, design, build support, testing, and implementation.

  • Partner with functional and technical teams to identify, triage, and resolve critical and sustaining issues, balancing short‑term fixes with long‑term solutions.

  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring defects or data issues and drive permanent remediation through process, system, or control improvements.

  • Develop test strategies and test scripts, execute functional and integration testing, and document results to support high‑quality releases.

  • Coordinate resource planning, dependencies, and timelines across business and IT teams to support effective delivery.

  • Provide clear status updates, risks, and recommendations to management and business stakeholders, supporting informed decision‑making.

What you bring:

  • Strong experience with end‑to‑end business analysis practices, including process mapping, functional design, requirements traceability, and impact analysis in enterprise environments

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex finance and data requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications for technical delivery teams

  • Experience supporting integrated finance systems, including upstream and downstream data flows, reconciliations, and controls

  • Proven capability to perform data analysis and validation to support defect resolution, enhancements, and system changes

  • Experience working within agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery models, collaborating closely with product owners, developers, and QA teams

  • Strong understanding of governance, controls, and compliance considerations within Finance systems

  • Ability to prioritize competing initiatives, assess tradeoffs, and provide recommendations aligned to business value and risk

  • Experience partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders across Finance, Technology, and external vendors in a matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Experience producing executive‑level communications, including status updates, risks, issues, and recommendations

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion, and Coupa (Asset)

Our typical hiring range is between $64,000 and $106,000 CAD. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. #LI-AK1
