As a finance professional, you will join our finance group as an integral member of our Trade Compliance team. The Trade File relates to the ongoing softwood lumber trade dispute between Canada and the United States. The U.S. has imposed duties and tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber imports, and West Fraser is required to participate in annual reviews of the data used to determine these rates. The Trade Compliance team is responsible for responding to U.S. Department of Commerce questionnaires and collaborating with external legal counsel to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data required for the responses.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to lead the anti-dumping duty component of the softwood lumber investigation. This includes:
This high-profile position provides a company-wide perspective, giving you exposure to our global operations, legal structure, and finance and business practices. You will work closely with senior leaders—including CâSuite executives—team members across various sites, and external stakeholders. Success in this role requires the ability to tailor messages to different audiences, navigate complex information, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
