Description

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Senior Finance Data Analyst to be based at our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. The Senior Finance Data Analyst will be a data thought leader capable of demonstrating how using data can improve business results and coaching others to effectively use data and tools to do the same.

Responsibilities
  • Creating impactful visualizations and reports that translate complex data into actionable insights to senior management
  • Offer expertise in best practices for data collection, transformation, and visualization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and tailor solutions accordingly
  • Identify repetitive tasks and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Develop robust data validation and error-checking protocols
  • Coach and mentor supervisors, leaders, and managers to enhance analytical skills.


Qualifications
  • Education Required: University Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Years of Experience Required:
    • 8 to 10 years business related experience (Data or Analytics)
  • Understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes
  • CPA designation (asset)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to harmonize technical and business knowledge to produce impactful analyses
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, technological proficiency, ability to solve complex problems
  • Proficient use of reporting tools like Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Microsoft Products, Cognos
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Capacity to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively with high degree of accuracy
  • Committed to continuous learning and flexibility.
