The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects that have departmental or firmwide impact. This individual will lead and provide project direction to cross-functional teams. This candidate must be results-oriented and goal-oriented with strong task management, client relationship, and change management skills. The Senior Project Manager will focus primarily on projects with technical components and must possess a strong understanding of information technology, while also supporting broader business and Firm initiatives.



Responsibilities
  • Define the scope of projects in collaboration with business and technical sponsors.
  • Define project success criteria and monitor progress to ensure deliverables align with agreed-upon expectations.
  • Collaboratively create detailed work plans that identify and sequence activities, align resources, and establish timelines.
  • Create and execute communication plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and minimize project risks throughout the project.
  • Execute projects according to the established plan and report on deviations.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Collaborate with external consultants as needed and manage vendor relationships.
  • Assist with the development of testing plans and coordinate the execution of those plans.
  • Provide leadership for project teams by motivating members to meet goals and uphold responsibilities.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level progress reports and presentations.
  • Assess situations to determine the appropriate importance, urgency, and risk level.
  • Set priorities, monitor progress toward goals, and manage details, data, and information effectively.
  • Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and analyze information, generate solutions, and make sound recommendations.
  • Adhere to project standards and maintain documentation as defined by the Firm’s Project Management Office.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree; PMP certification a plus.
  • 8-10 years of leading and managing large-scale strategic projects and programs.
  • Proven experience with project management methodologies; Waterfall required, Agile/Hybrid a plus.
  • Experience managing projects for business or client-facing functions, such as branding, client experience, or go-to-market initiatives, is a plus.
  • Strong experience communicating and interacting effectively across all levels of the Firm.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and client service skills.
  • Demonstrated strength in change management, business analysis, process re-engineering, time management, and organization.
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, with experience presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage several programs and/or projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt to and champion change.


This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $160,000-$190,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
