Responsibilities

Leads cross‑divisional product strategy by synthesizing customer, market, and security signals—using AI‑driven trend analysis, sentiment evaluation, and telemetry to shape hypotheses, feature prioritization, and long‑range planning.

Ensures product‑market fit and security alignment by validating customer needs, market opportunities, and regulatory requirements, partnering with engineering, design, and security SMEs to meet Microsoft’s security, privacy, and compliance standards.

Drives AI‑powered experimentation and model optimization, designing complex A/B tests and leveraging telemetry to improve predictive accuracy, customer experience, and security posture across multiple feature areas.

Champions secure‑by‑design principles, ensuring threat modeling, logging posture, permissions minimization, and security‑enabled‑by‑default configurations are embedded into product architecture and roadmap decisions.

Guides product vision and strategy across divisional boundaries, translating advanced AI concepts into business value and aligning senior leadership, engineering, and customer stakeholders around secure, scalable, AI‑first solutions.

Defines and operationalizes success metrics, including OKRs, KPIs, and security‑specific indicators (e.g., investigation‑ready logging, model precision/recall), ensuring responsible data collection and compliant telemetry pipelines.

Leads secure product development and roadmap execution, balancing customer needs, technical tradeoffs, and long‑term investment priorities while ensuring AI‑driven features meet quality, ethical, and security standards.

Orchestrates customer engagement and feedback loops, leveraging AI‑powered listening systems, direct interviews, and community programs to identify unmet needs, validate scenarios, and drive secure adoption across sectors.

Influences go‑to‑market strategy by collaborating with Product Marketing and Business Planning to define release criteria—including SDL compliance—while shaping messaging, content, and customer‑readiness plans for secure AI‑driven features.

Drives performance insights and lifecycle decisions, using AI analytics to monitor deployment health, identify deprecation opportunities, and guide cross‑team action that improves security, reliability, and customer trust.
QualificationsRequired/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
- 8+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 8+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
- Leadership and Influence: Leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across a complex organization.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of threat detection and triage to incident response, hunting, secure design, compliance, and platform hardening.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in managing and leveraging user and business data for growth optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with various teams, including product, engineering, design, marketing, and data science, to drive growth.
- Stakeholder Management: Proficiency working with a diverse set of stakeholders across surfaces, mindsets and approaches, ranging from decades old properties with significant scale to new startup mode innovative AI nascent properties and bets.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for security initiatives, with a focus on innovation and growth.
Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
