Position Title: Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room (Day Shift)
Location: Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Facility: Valley View Hospital (Level III Trauma Center)
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule
- 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
- Day Shift
- Rotating on-call required
- Holiday coverage required
Eligibility Requirement
- Must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility (travel rule applies)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a high-acuity Operating Room team in a Level III trauma center. The role requires strong multi-specialty surgical experience and the ability to work with advanced surgical technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
- Anticipate surgical team needs to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety
- Support multiple specialties including orthopedics (total joints), neuro/spine, robotics, urology, OB-GYN, ENT, plastics, and trauma
- Operate and assist with advanced surgical systems (DaVinci, Mako, Exactech, Stealth)
- Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments
- Perform surgical counts and maintain infection control compliance
- Assist with room turnover and case preparation
- Document procedures accurately in Meditech EMR
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency surgeries
Required Qualifications
- Active Colorado Surgical Technologist License (CST – DORA)
- Certification (NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT)
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience
- Strong experience in orthopedics (total joints), neuro/spine, robotics, urology, GYN, ENT, plastics
- Current BLS (AHA) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in trauma or high-acuity surgical settings
