AOT Intern—Position Summary 


The Arrival Orientation (AOT) intern will support the Events and Instructional Support Teams in preparing for our Ambassador Teachers' summer training. This role requires strong collaboration skills to work effectively with both team members and international teachers.


Essential Functions

  • Cataloging and creation of instructional content
  • Administrative task to support the team’s efforts
  • Arrival Orientation tasks can include:
    • Airport pickups
    • Hotel registration
    • Material preparation
    • Departure assistance
    • Any tasks assigned by the Events team during orientation weeks
Requirements

Key Knowledge, Skill, Ability, and Education Requirements 

Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Global/International Studies, or a related field.

Technical Proficiency

  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Drive) 

Communication Skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with partners.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work closely with the staff and event participants.
  • Bilingualism is a plus, though not required.

Project Management and Organization

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results by determined deadlines.
  • Capability to accomplish projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and self-direction.

Other Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift boxes up to 20 lbs.

Other Essential Requirements

  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer, with potential evening or weekend event coverage.
  • Ability to regularly travel between event locations in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Durham as needed.
  • Willing to spend 3 weeks in D.C. for Arrival Orientation sessions.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with quick turnaround times for content creation.
