Azure Integration Engineer (Lead) – Contract

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Azure Integration Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will focus on designing and building scalable, event-driven integration solutions on Azure. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Azure Functions, distributed processing, and modern cloud architecture patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Azure Durable Functions using orchestrator and activity patterns
• Build scalable, cloud-native solutions using .NET 8 (Isolated Worker model)
• Convert legacy PowerShell scripts into stateless, production-grade Azure Functions
• Implement event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hubs and related services
• Develop and optimize data ingestion patterns, including watermark-based change detection and parallel processing
• Ensure system reliability through robust observability, including logging, monitoring, retry logic, and error handling (App Insights)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement integration strategies
• Provide technical leadership and best practices for Azure-based integrations

• Proven experience designing and implementing Azure-based integration solutions
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Durable Functions and .NET (C#)
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• Solid understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and cloud-native design patterns
• Experience with Azure Event Hubs or similar messaging/streaming platforms
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Application Insights)
• Ability to work independently in a client-facing, fast-paced environment
