Come be a part of our Ohana. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to support our Legal and Contracts team within a defense contracting environment. This is not a paralegal or administrative role. The ideal candidate is a business-minded professional with strong analytical skills, a foundational understanding of business operations, and a strong desire to learn the complexities of government and defense contracting.
Job Description:
This role will focus on tracking and managing compliance-related business requirements, including SBA regulatory obligations, state registrations, and insurance analysis and negotiations, while working closely with legal, contracts, and operations teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track, monitor, and maintain compliance with Small Business Administration (SBA) requirements, including certifications, reporting deadlines, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage and track state business registrations, renewals, and entity compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the review, analysis, and tracking of business insurance policies, including general liability, professional liability, and government-required coverage.
- Assist in the evaluation and coordination of insurance renewals, negotiations, and broker communications.
- Maintain accurate compliance dashboards and tracking tools for legal and contract-related obligations.
- Continuously improves tracking systems, templates and reporting tools to increase efficiency and visibility.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated interest in compliance. contracts, government contracting, or regulated industries.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other data tracking tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
- Eagerness to learn defense contracting, SBA requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in government contracting, defense industry, or regulated business environment.
- Familiarity with SBA programs and certification processes (8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.)
- Exposure to corporate insurance processes or broker coordination.
- Experience with compliance tracking systems, CRM tools, or contract management systems
- Understanding of corporate entity registration and multi-state compliance.
