Location: Remote (Texas, 78751)

Pay Rate: $72.66 per hour

Assignment Length: September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst III to support a major Enterprise Information Management (EIM) initiative for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise metadata, AI enablement, data governance, and analytics initiatives that directly support statewide healthcare programs and strategic decision making.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will serve as the primary bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, helping develop enterprise metadata, business glossaries, data lineage, and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Gather and analyze complex business and technical requirements.
  • Translate metadata acquisition and operational requirements into actionable business solutions.
  • Collaborate with business users, project sponsors, subject matter experts, and IT teams.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise business glossaries and metadata documentation.
  • Analyze metadata from multiple internal and external data sources.
  • Support enterprise data lineage initiatives and metadata enrichment activities.
  • Write SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Create reports and dashboards that measure metadata quality and program progress.
  • Explain technical findings and data limitations to business users and executive leadership.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs and identify potential inaccuracies or hallucinations.
  • Develop AI prompts and reusable prompt libraries that improve metadata retrieval and reporting.
  • Deliver user training and promote data literacy throughout the organization.
  • Recommend improvements to data governance, reporting processes, and metadata quality.

 

Required Qualifications

We're looking for professionals with extensive experience in business analysis and enterprise data management.

 

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • 8+ years gathering and documenting complex business requirements.
  • 8+ years translating technical and metadata requirements into business solutions.
  • 8+ years working as a senior Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Liaison.
  • 8+ years of advanced SQL experience.
  • 8+ years collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • 8+ years explaining complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

  • Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse environments.
  • Metadata management and enterprise data catalogs.
  • Data governance and data quality initiatives.
  • Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC).
  • Informatica Axon Data Governance.
  • Healthcare, Health and Human Services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Business glossary development.
  • Data lineage analysis.
  • AI prompt engineering and prompt optimization.
  • Data literacy training and organizational change management.
