Job Summary

The Investment Solutions Group focuses on delivering state-of-the-art technological solutions to our stakeholders which include traders, portfolio managers, and cross-functional teams. We have a wide range of opportunities in systems designed for enterprise data warehousing, and micro-services for inter-application integrations.

The Data Technology Solution team focuses on onboarding, transforming and delivering data for various downstream such as risk valuation and regulatory reporting. You will be exposed to complex data platform systems that involve front, mid, and back-office stakeholders and make real, tangible impacts on HOOPP’s performance.

As a Business Analyst, you will work on day-to-day support on mainstream databases such as SAP HANA and snowflake. You will gain exposure to various aspects of the business that will allow you to learn the ins-and-outs of how HOOPP operates. You will be the face of ISG and develop tight-knit relationships with the stakeholders to take the business to the next level.

What you will do:

  • Prepare test data for Operation Readiness and other financial reporting enhancement initiatives

  • Investigate data discrepancy through navigating the data flow across multiple applications

  • Validate system upgrades, enhancements through unit test, regression test, and integration test

  • Maintain and seek opportunities to improve workflows and processes

  • Work closely with HOOPP business partners and other IT teams to help refine and document requirements, prototype solutions, and provide support for investment operations

  • Participate in Agile-Scrum practices such as daily standups, grooming, planning, and sprint retrospectives.

What you bring:

  • Pursuing a diploma or degree in finance, business technology management, computer science, computer engineer bachelor’s degree program or equivalent work experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to take end-to-end ownership

  • Understanding of IT principles such as databases, functions, UI, business rules, and software development life cycle

  • Have fundamental capital market or finance knowledge

  • Experience with data processing in Excel or SQL, or Python would be an asset

  • Possess a Quality Assurance mindset and capable of testing software to find issues and confirm functionality 

  • A passion for data technology in a finance domain, and using data to drive analytics and insights on information

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $21.00 to $31.00

 

The actual hourly rate offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
