Commercial Millwork

Location: J. K. Concepts, Inc.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Overtime as needed)
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

The Machining & Cabinet Assembly Supervisor oversees daily operations across the Machining and Assembly departments in a commercial millwork environment. This role leads 8-9 employees, coordinates workflow between departments, ensures projects are built to plan and specification, and maintains high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, train, and lead machining and cabinet assembly employees
  • Set daily expectations, pace, and productivity goals
  • Assign tasks based on project priorities and skill levels
  • Coach team members on proper tool use, machine operation, and best practices
  • Foster a positive, safe, and accountable work environment

Production & Quality Control

  • Ensure projects are built per shop drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Perform quality checks on machined components before assembly
  • Inspect finished cabinets and millwork prior to wrapping and shipment
  • Ensure work orders are completed 100% and released on schedule
  • Complete daily case count forms per work order
  • Document and report quality or production issues to the Shop Foreman

Machining & Technical Oversight

  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to set up machinery for complex cuts
  • Oversee operation of CNCs, edge banders, beam saws, and other millwork equipment
  • Ensure proper tooling selection and cutting techniques
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate repairs
  • Perform and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly machine maintenance

Workflow, Inventory & Coordination

  • Optimize production flow between the Machining and Assembly departments
  • Manage machine schedules, material usage, and job sequencing
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely material delivery
  • Ensure accurate time tracking in Innergy

Safety & Organization

  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and safe shop practices
  • Identify and address potential hazards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial millwork machinery and processes
  • Excellent blueprint and shop drawing interpretation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Solid math skills and ability to read a tape measure
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and positive attitude

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a millwork lead, supervisor, or similar role
  • Experience in a manufacturing or architectural millwork environment preferred
  • Ability to operate woodworking machinery and basic shop equipment
  • CNC, edge bander, and beam saw experience a plus
  • Ability to train others to inspect and verify critical dimensions
  • Comfortable using a computer and production tracking systems
  • Forklift operation experience

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods during the workday
  • Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and carrying
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
  • Ability to lift more than 100 lbs with team assistance
