Position Summary:
The Data Analyst / Special Projects position supports data-informed decision-making across the school through the collection, analysis, reporting, and communication of institutional data. The role partners with school leaders to manage data systems, support assessment and survey processes, fulfill reporting requirements, and lead special projects that advance strategic priorities and continuous improvement. The incumbent will prioritize, promote and safeguard the welfare of all ASD students and show commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management and Reporting
? Maintain the integrity of institutional data systems, dashboards, and reporting platforms.
? Coordinate the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of data across areas, including student learning, enrollment, finance, human resources, operations, and community engagement.
? Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support decision-making, strategic planning, accreditation, and governance.
? Analyze institutional data to identify trends, inform planning, and support continuous improvement.
Assessment and Learning Analytics
- Coordinate the collection, management, and reporting of assessment data, including MAP, AP, IB, SAT, PSAT, AAPPL, and other school-wide measures.
- Support divisional leaders and teaching teams in interpreting assessment data and communicating results.
- Collaborate with external data partners and service providers to ensure accurate and timely data integration.
Survey and Research Support
? Design, administer, and analyze surveys for students, families, employees, and other stakeholder groups.
? Prepare summaries, presentations, and recommendations based on survey findings and research initiatives.
? Conduct institutional research projects that support school improvement efforts and strategic priorities.
Compliance and External Reporting
- Coordinate required reporting for governmental agencies, accrediting bodies, consortia, and external organizations.
- Ensure compliance with data collection, reporting, and confidentiality requirements.
- Manage annual data submissions for benchmarking and consortium reporting initiatives.
Strategic Projects
- Lead and support special projects identified by the Director, Director of Teaching and Learning, and other members of the Leadership Team.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives requiring data analysis, project management, stakeholder communication, and implementation support.
- Assist in the development of annual reports, strategic plan monitoring, board reports, and institutional publications.
Data Literacy and Capacity Building
- Support faculty, staff, and administrators in accessing, understanding, and using data effectively.
- Develop resources, protocols, and training materials that strengthen data literacy across the organization.
- Promote best practices in data governance, data quality, and data-informed decision making.
Knowledge & Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess some of the following knowledge and skills and demonstrate a disposition to become familiar with those that she/he currently lacks.
- Advanced data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard platforms.
- Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of educational assessment systems and institutional research practices.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable information for diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Education, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Research Methods, or related field.
- Experience working with large datasets, reporting systems, and data visualization tools.
- Demonstrated experience producing reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred
- Experience in an educational or international school environment.
- Experience with PowerSchool, NWEA, College Board, IB, Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting strategic planning, accreditation, or institutional research.
- Arabic language proficiency.
