About the Role:

The Intern position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop professional skills within a dynamic work environment, with the flexibility to work a part-time schedule with us. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the dealership's operations, projects, and team collaboration, enabling the intern to contribute to real-world tasks and initiatives. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to support various departments (Accounting, Parts and Service), enhancing their understanding of industry practices and workplace expectations. Through this role, the intern will build foundational skills, receive constructive feedback, and develop a professional network that supports future career growth. Ultimately, the internship aims to prepare the candidate for successful entry into their chosen field by fostering practical knowledge and professional development.

Internship Dates:  This is an 8-week program starting on Monday 2/16/26, and ending on: Friday 4/10/26.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in classes at Glendale Community College
  • Ability to commit to work up to 20 hours per week
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic proficiency with common office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting
  • Show proof of a valid US. driver's license and pass a background check and drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software or tools relevant to the department.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in diverse and inclusive environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting
    • Assist the Administration Department of the dealership in improving processes
    • Assist the entire Administration team with various office duties, including data entry, filing, faxing, and copying.
    • File records according to the system used for the entire Dealership
    • Locate and pull materials from files when requested, answer questions about records and assist with all file-related tasks
    • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing department goals
    • Keep work area well-organized and clean and utilize safe work habits
  • Parts
    • Assist the Parts Department of the dealership with locating automotive parts for the counter
    • Deliver and collect parts from Service Technicians
    • Assist with the organization of perpetual inventory and running count sheets
    • Stock automotive parts in their proper location
    • Handle sensitive customer information in a confidential manner
    • Exhibit polite and professional communication with the managers and staff
  • Service
    • Proactively acknowledge and engage all guests visiting the Dealership
    • Open and close agreements with the time scope defined by management
    • Check in vehicles on the service drive ensuring all lot damage is noted and charged appropriately
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all guests who have questions or issues with courtesy vehicles
    • Contact guests regarding lost and found items found in courtesy vehicles and follow up with items to be destroyed
    • Utilize computer programs specific to the department such as MyKaarma, X-time, TSD, and Microsoft Office
    • Perform miscellaneous tasks, reports and duties as needed
