What you'll do...
  • Build and ship end to end features across high performance backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
  • This is a true zero-to-one build. There is no existing system to extend, and many architectural decisions are being defined in real time.
  • Contribute to the full technical lifecycle of features, from design input through implementation and testing, with support from a senior-heavy team.
  • Integrate AI tooling directly into the core product and your own development workflow to automate content operations.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and take personal responsibility for quality because there is no dedicated QA team to catch mistakes.
  • Collaborate in a high velocity, senior heavy environment where you help define the "how" and "what" of a product still being shaped.
  • Help establish early engineering standards and culture alongside a team that prioritizes craftsmanship and rapid delivery.
  • Work through technical ambiguity and stretch into whichever side of the stack a problem requires.
  • You will not be expected to have prior zero-to-one experience, but you should be comfortable building in an environment where systems and patterns are still being defined.

What we're looking for...
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production code on both the backend and frontend.
  • Proven capability in React, TypeScript, and the Next.js ecosystem combined with experience in at least one backend language like Go or Python.
  • Solid experience with modern API design including REST, GraphQL, or webhooks and the ability to maintain strict type safety across the stack.
  • Comfort operating in cloud native environments specifically with GCP or Cloudflare primitives like Edge compute.
  • Active AI fluency. You must be able to walk through a concrete example of building with AI, either integrating AI into a product or creating a tool that materially improved your development workflow. This can include product features or internal tools that meaningfully improved your workflow. Basic prompting or passive usage is not sufficient.
  • A "Systems Thinking" mindset where you prioritize maintainability, performance, and well tested code over quick patches.
  • High agency engineer who does not wait for a ticket to be perfect before starting to build and take ownership.
  • Bonus Points: Exposure to real time sync with WebSockets or SSE, headless CMS platforms like Sanity or Contentful, or open source contributions to the modern web platform.

Compensation & Legal Disclosures
  • Base Salary: $116-145K per year. Note: Final offers are based on individual technical depth, experience, and location.
  • Quarterly/annual bonus plus equity package.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Results-oriented PTO, sick days, and paid holidays.
  • Parental leave, family planning, and monthly wellness/learning stipends.
  • Equal Opportunity & Fair Chance: Decisions are made regardless of protected status. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, qualified applicants with arrest/conviction records will be considered.
  • Work Authorization: U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is required. Eligibility is confirmed via E-Verify.
