Kapnick Insurance is seeking results-driven students to join our team as a 2026 summer intern! Are you looking for a challenging, competitive and rewarding paid internship with one of Michigan's Top Work Places and Cool Places to Work?


Our Employee Benefits Select Intern will work with various employees at Kapnick to gain a diverse insight into the business. The essential functions of the position include:

  • Review and audit approximately 100 Select Department clients to confirm the existence of FSA and/or Section 125 plan documents on file
  • Identify clients without required documentation and create FSA or Section 125 documents using internal document creation software
  • Evaluate existing client documents to determine whether restatements or updates are needed to ensure compliance
  • Manage document creation efficiently, completing new documents in under 30 minutes per client when required
  • Conduct thorough client audits, dedicating 15–60 minutes per client based on complexity and documentation status
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all client documentation meets current regulatory and internal standards
  • Be a part of a privately held professional service firm providing business insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, risk management, and financial strategies to a vast and diverse base of clients worldwide
  • Tackle special projects and assignments as instructed by manager
  • Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects
  • Collaborate with all interns to create a company wide intern presentation 
  • Spend one on one time with over 20 employees, where you will have the opportunity to interview, learn & network 
  • Opportunity to volunteer in the community
  • Participate in our carrier exchange program
Requirements

To be considered for the Employee Benefits Select Internship program, you should:

  • Be a current college student, minimally completed 1 year with a concentration in Risk Management, Insurance, Sales, Marketing, Business, Management, Communications, Economics, Finance, Logistics, Accounting, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Be familiar with computer equipment and have a desire to learn software required to complete the job functions
  • Be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Possess strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Like to solve problems
  • Have a proven track record as an excellent team player
