Position Overview
Country Dreams Farm, in partnership with BHSN, is offering a hands-on, paid internship opportunity through ACCES-VR for a motivated individual interested in agriculture, animal care, and outdoor work. The Farm Assistant will support daily farm operations while gaining practical experience in a structured, supportive environment.
Location: Country Dreams Farm, 260 Pellerin Road, Plattsburgh, NY
Position Type: Part-Time Internship (ACCES-VR Paid)
Schedule: 2 days per week, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, days of the week will vary.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily farm tasks including feeding animals and general care
- Support planting, harvesting, and basic crop maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of barns, work areas, and equipment
- Assist with light maintenance and organization of farm supplies
- Follow all safety guidelines and instructions from farm staff
- Participate in skill-building activities aligned with internship goals
Qualifications
- Eligible for ACCES-VR services and approved for a paid internship
- Interest in farming, agriculture, or animal care
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable working in an active farm environment
