Your role at BHSN: 


The PROS intake specialist provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments as part of the intake process for PROS. Engages and coordinates services for new referrals as part of the intake process.

 

What your day might look like: 

  • Engages clients in a comprehensive assessment of strengths/needs
  • Ensures that the program engages individuals quickly into recovery-oriented services
  • Coordinates and collaborates treatment with all referral sources
  • Provides outreach, engagement, and follow-up services as necessary
  • Provides engaging interventions for individual recipients
  • Ensures the development, writing and timely completion of required documentation in accordance with state/federal regulations and Agency’s policies and procedures
  • Accurately completes and interprets all program assessment tools
  • Ensures the structure and stability of each individual caseload 
  • Provides individual and group rehabilitation interventions as directed
  • Coordinates and collaborates with rehabilitation team and external providers
  • Maintains productivity levels as established by the Agency, which may be subject to change
  • Participatory member of various committee and team meetings
  • Supervises student interns as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Your skills and qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in human service or related field required
  • Must possess or be in a position to obtain LMHC-P, LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW licensure 
  • 2 years of providing direct care in a mental health setting preferred
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local travel
  • Must possess engagement and teaching skills
  • Understanding of the OMH PROS regulations and familiarity with the OMH PROS Standards of Care preferred
  • Experience working with people living with a dual diagnosis, co-occurring disorders or concurrent disorders preferred
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft software products; familiarity with databases preferred
