Status: Internship/Volunteer – Unpaid
Location: Various locations or remote, as assigned

Position Summary:

The Dolores C. Huerta Foundation (DHF) offers unpaid internship and volunteer opportunities for individuals seeking meaningful experience in social justice, nonprofit operations, and community organizing. Interns may serve in a variety of departments including Archives, Civic Engagement, Administration, Education, or Development and Communications. These roles are intended for educational or professional development and may be supported by outside institutions or fellowship programs. DHF does not provide compensation or employee benefits for interns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities vary by department and may include:

  • Assisting with administrative, archival, research, or outreach projects

  • Supporting event planning, community education, or campaign logistics

  • Participating in program development or content creation

  • Drafting or editing outreach materials, reports, or internal documents

  • Supporting data entry, communications, or digital organizing efforts

  • Conducting research to inform departmental initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Interest in DHF’s mission and commitment to social and racial justice

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Basic proficiency in office software and digital tools

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
