Job Description Summary:
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the accurate design, validation, approval and release of See’s new packaging developments. Ensures that packaging development projects adhere to business goals and are delivered on time, on spec and on budget
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000k -$97,000k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages multiple packaging development projects at once from concept through commercial launch phases. Works proactively to communicate and solve challenges that occur throughout the projects.
- Maintains project plan, identifies resource needs, manages project schedules and milestones to ensure on time delivery of packaging components.
- Responsible for selection of packaging materials and structural design in accordance with current manufacturing capabilities and food safety standards.
- Works directly with suppliers to develop and ensure timely delivery of engineering samples, pre-production samples and production samples.
- Partners with key teams including Operations, Creative, Quality, Procurement and Marketing to ensure packaging objectives are met in a timely manner
- Develops component specifications, builds and validates BOM’s, creates packaging instructions and change order notices.
- Assists quality and merchandising team on documentation of packaging components specifications
- Assist in the execution of projects that may include objectives for savings, process development or improvement, sustainability, supplier consolidation, vendor risk management, and metrics tracking.
- Perform special projects as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, equipment and process for flexible films, folding carton, thermoformed plastics, corrugated, tins and cans.
- Experience with ERP and project management systems preferred but not required.
- Experience in high-volume consumer packaged goods preferred but not required.
- Understanding of print technologies including pre-press, proofing, and final production.
- Experience with packaging design process, systems and tools.
- Ability to shift gears in a fast-paced continually evolving environment.
- Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently, proactively and in a positive manner.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 40–50 lbs. as needed
