Position Summary

The Lean Manufacturing Intern will assist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects by utilizing lean tools and techniques like 6S, Kaizen events, value stream mapping, time studies and process instructions. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design fixtures to improve ergonomics.
•  Maximize efficiencies by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.  
• Utilize lean manufacturing techniques including but not limited to time studies, line balance, coordination of Kaizen and Workshop events, work instructions.
• Review of manufacturing areas for potential safety hazards and make sure that all the safety practices are being followed while implementing new processes.
• Explore Lean Six Sigma concepts.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management or related field
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Lean Certification helpful, but not required.
• Independent and a self-starter
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Hours - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday    Summer 2026
