Manager of Internal Vessel Repair and Compliance

We are seeking an individual that is results driven, detail oriented, and works well with a team who will coordinate the completion of the preventative maintenance, repairs, and compliance inspections for Wepfer vessels with management and all operations. This person will work closely with management in the shipyard and at each location. This position will need to be good at creating a plan for repairs and executing that plan with the managers and repair personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience in steel and hull repair as well as mechanical repairs including diesel engines, hydraulics, compressed air, and electrical. 


  

This position will work very close to shipyard operations, harbor managers, and compliance personnel to maintain the maintenance and compliance on the vessels including but not limited to the items below as well as special projects and duties as assigned. This position will:

  1. Oversee      and schedule the preventative maintenance program on all vessels utilizing      Sinex to schedule and document all repairs completed and to be completed
  2. Oversee      and assist in the repairing of items put into Sinex through scheduling      with shipyard personnel and the manager responsible for the vessel.
  3. Become      an approved auditor, surveyor, and drydock inspector through TVIB so they      can complete surveys, audits, and drydock inspections for Wepfer’s      vessels. This includes completing      all associated paperwork for the inspections and working with TVIB to      clear every item.
  4. Inspect      vessels for quality assurance on repairs that have already been repaired.
  5. Inspect      vessels for planning repairs that will need to be completed in the future.
  6. Manage      Sinex and work with other managers and employees to ensure accurate      information is logged in a timely manner and repairs are completed in a      timely manner and to Wepfer’s standard.
Requirements

    

Qualifications

· Must pass a TSA background check 

· 5+ years’ experience in shipyard repairs and ABS standards – ideally an approved TVIB Drydock Inspector

· 5+ years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, compressed air, and electrical repairs

· Previous experience working with government agencies such as USCG, EPA, and OSHA on policy and regulatory issues, preferred

· Excellent planning and budgeting skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working conditions  

This position will require work in an office, the shipyard, and on the road to outside vessels and shipyards and may require infrequent work on weekends, evenings, and holidays, depending on business needs.


    

Physical requirements

The physical work demand for this position is classified as light to moderate physical effort with average to heavy material not exceed 50 lbs occasionally. This position will require work outside and in elements as well as in confined spaces.
