Role: The Business Analyst works closely with project teams and clients, and reports to the Senior Delivery Manager, Global Capability Center for Products (GCCP). He or she is primarily responsible for translating client business needs into detailed functional specifications to support successful product implementations. The Business Analyst must demonstrate great attention to detail and excellent organizational and priority management skills.

Below is a brief description of the product the candidate will be working on.

The candidate will primarily support implementations of Equisoft/Sync, with additional exposure to Equisoft/Illustrate and Equisoft/Apply. Equisoft/Sync provides self-service access to information contained in insurance policy administration systems for advisors, agents, plan administrators, policyholders and individual customers, enabling real-time visibility into policies and sales performance. Equisoft/Illustrate is a powerful illustration engine used by carriers and distributors to generate insurance product proposals and benefit projections. Equisoft/Apply is a digital new business and e-application platform that streamlines the insurance application and underwriting process from submission through to policy issuance.

  

Your Day with Equisoft:   

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with client stakeholders to document business needs and translate them into detailed functional specifications.

  • Work closely with technical leads, developers, and Delivery Managers to ensure client requirements are accurately reflected in the implementation configuration.

  • Support solution design by analyzing client workflows and identifying the optimal configuration approach for Equisoft/Sync, Illustrate, and Apply.

  • Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparation of test cases, defect tracking, and formal sign-off activities.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client business stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle, managing expectations and communications.

  • Prepare and maintain functional documentation including business requirement documents, configuration specifications, and traceability matrices.

  • Identify, document, and escalate risks, issues, and scope changes, collaborating with the Delivery Manager to maintain delivery integrity.

  • Participate in project planning activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and delivery milestone reviews.

  • Create and maintain Jira tasks throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with the Delivery Manager and technical leads to track progress and delivery commitments.

Requirements:  

Technical  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Information Technology or a college diploma

  • 5 years or more in a Functional or Business Analyst role

  • Minimum of 2 years' significant work experience in the insurance and finance sector

  • Proven ability to gather and document complex business requirements with attention to detail 

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.

  • Experience with Agile practices

  • Implementation or professional services environment

  • Exposure to AI tools for business synopsis
