About the Opportunity
A fast-growing, private equity–backed landscape organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its construction division. The division manages large-scale commercial and multifamily development projects across the Greater Houston area, delivering high-quality landscape, irrigation, drainage, and site enhancement work for leading general contractors and developers.
This is a high-impact role for a PM who can take ownership of complex projects, coordinate field teams, manage budgets, and maintain strong client relationships. The organization is scaling aggressively, offering long-term career growth and advancement for high performers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Lead all phases of landscape construction projects from award through closeout.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $500K–$2M in value.
- Oversee installation of landscape, irrigation, drainage, and related scopes.
- Maintain project schedules, sequencing, and critical path milestones.
Financial Oversight
- Track budgets, job costs, and profitability.
- Manage change orders, billing, and forecasting.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed margin targets.
Field Leadership
- Coordinate daily work with superintendents, crews, and subcontractors.
- Conduct jobsite walks to ensure quality, safety, and spec compliance.
- Provide technical support for irrigation, plant selection, drainage, and layout.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for developers, general contractors, and inspectors.
- Lead progress meetings, provide updates, and address issues proactively.
- Build strong relationships that generate repeat business.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review plans and drawings; identify conflicts early.
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Maintain adherence to safety standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in landscape construction project management.
- Proven ability to manage $3M–$8M+ in total project volume.
- Strong understanding of landscape, irrigation, and drainage systems.
- Experience working with commercial, multifamily, or municipal development projects.
- Proficient with project scheduling, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to jobsites across Greater Houston.
Preferred
- Irrigation License (or equivalent technical certification).
- Experience managing subcontractors and large field teams.
- Background in estimating or take-offs.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, landscape, and irrigation plans.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
