Position: Technology Support Internship

Schedule: June-August 2026 (25-30 hours a week)

Location: District Administration Building/ High School

Reports to: Director of Technology

 

Summary: Provide Technology Support for the Upper St. Clair School.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Respond to support tickets or requests from staff and students.
  • Set up and configure computers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Provide classroom technology support, including projectors, interactive whiteboards, and document cameras.
  1. Hardware/Software Deployment
  • Help image and deploy new computers and devices across the district.
  • Support summer technology refreshes or large-scale rollouts.
  • Assist with Chromebook or laptop distribution and inventory.
  • Install and update software applications as directed.
  1. Network and Systems Support
  • Assist IT staff with maintaining wiring closets and network cabling (as permitted).
  • Help monitor and log network issues.
  • Support wireless access point testing or troubleshooting under supervision.
  1. Inventory and Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and asset tags.
  • Assist with updating documentation for internal systems and processes.
  • Perform audits of classroom and technology equipment.

  1. User Training and Support
  • Provide basic guidance to users on how to use new technology tools or applications.
  • Assist with developing “how-to” guides or videos for staff or student use.

  1. Project Assistance
  • Participate in specific IT projects (e.g., Wi-Fi upgrades, software migrations).
    Provide support for special events, including setup and takedown of AV/tech equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or college program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with computers and troubleshooting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interest in educational technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Chrome OS, and/or macOS environments.
