Position Overview:

This role provides technical and nursing support for patients undergoing advanced diagnostics, procedures, treatments, and ongoing case management within the Internal Medicine service. This role works closely with internists, fellow technicians, assistants, and client service teams to ensure safe patient handling, accurate treatment delivery, thorough documentation, and excellent continuity of care.This individual will thrive in a specialty environment that requires critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to balance hands-on patient care with detailed coordination and communication.

Once your shift begins, you will step into a fast-paced, team-centered hospital environment where your role truly matters.A typical day may include preparing patients for appointments and procedures, obtaining histories, assisting with diagnostics, placing IV catheters, collecting laboratory samples, supporting advanced imaging or endoscopic procedures, administering treatments, monitoring sedated or anesthetized patients, and helping coordinate ongoing care plans. Throughout the day, you will help manage medically complex patients while serving as a knowledgeable and compassionate resource for both the clinical team and the families who trust us with their pets’ care.

This role is ideal for a technician who values meaningful client connection, thrives on organization and clinical detail, and takes pride in helping patients receive thoughtful, high-quality care during some of their most important visits.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for internal medicine appointments, diagnostics, procedures, and treatments while ensuring safety, comfort, and efficient case flow
Assist with patient assessment, venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration, diagnostic workups, and advanced procedures as directed
Provide anesthesia and sedation support for internal medicine procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
Maintain accurate medical records, treatment documentation, and communication with doctors, clients, and hospital teams to support continuity of care
Collaborate closely with internists, technicians, assistants, and other departments to support an organized, efficient, and high-quality workflow

Qualifications:
Veterinary technician experience required; radiology or specialty experience strongly preferred - Anesthesia experience required
Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred, though strong experienced candidates may be considered
Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration, patient restraint, and nursing care
Comfortable monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients and supporting procedural care
Excellent attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment with a strong focus on teamwork and patient safety
