POSITION PROFILE:

We're looking for a friendly, organized, and personable host/hostess to welcome guests, manage reservations, and support the team at Simonette.

ABOUT SIMONETTE RESTAURANT:

In the heart of Downtown Culver City, Simonette is an all-day restaurant and bar that combines the elegance of French cuisine with the cheerful friendliness of an American café. Located at Palihotel Culver City, Simonette is the perfect gathering spot for locals and travelers alike. The menu is hearty and simple yet refined by its French nature. It’s shared mussels and a beer at lunch, a hamburger with Dijon served with a side of French-style green beans, or pomme frites. It’s a pork chop and ratatouille served with two martinis at night. It’s utilitarian, unpretentious, and totally chic!

TASKS AT HAND:

• You’re the friendly face that greets all guests and enhances our guests’ experience by bringing your own flavor to the restaurant.
• Making sure guests are having a fabulous time, from the moment they arrive until it's time to say goodbye.
• Creating a warm, friendly, and laidback atmosphere that turns first-time guests into regulars.
• Learning our steps of service, products, menu, and systems inside and out.
• Assisting clientele on the phone with reservations and other queries
• Managing our online reservation system as well as in-person, phone, and email reservation inquiries in a friendly, trusty manner
• Taking orders and delivering dishes and drinks when necessary
• Multi-tasking and taking on a variety of roles when needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly
• Collaborating with team members in a friendly, professional manner

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills; excellent phone manner
• Follow directions thoroughly.
• Provide legible communication and directions.
• Some computer literacy
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Host in a high-quality full service or fast casual environment
